The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is offered in a gasoline model. After performing the oil change the maintenance data will need to be reset. There are 3 different ways to reset the oil light on this vehicle:
Vehicles equipped with Driver Information Centre (DIC) steering wheel controls:
1. Turn the ignition to run (do not start the engine).
2. Use the ↑ or ↓ arrow to highlight the Oil Life Remaining menu.
3. Press the √ button to select this menu.
4. Press and hold the √ until the oil life remaining changes to 100%.
5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
Vehicles with DIC controls on the steering wheel:
1. Turn the ignition to run (do not start the engine).
2. Turn the TRIP/RESET stem to scroll the menu and highlight Remaining Oil Life menu.
3. Press and hold the TRIP/RESET button until the oil life remaining changes to 100%.
4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
Using the Gas Pedal:
1. Turn the ignition to run (do not start the engine)
2. Press the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
3. If the display shows 100% the system has been reset.
4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine.
