If you’re the proud owner of a 2010 Acura ZDX, you already know that it’s a sleek and stylish SUV that offers a blend of performance and luxury. However, like any vehicle, it requires regular maintenance to keep it running smoothly. One of the most common reminders that your car needs a little TLC is the oil maintenance light on your dashboard. This light is more than just a gentle nudge from your car; it’s an essential part of maintaining your vehicle’s health and ensuring its longevity.
Resetting the oil maintenance light might seem like a small task, but it plays a vital role in tracking your car’s maintenance schedule. Generally, drivers see this light after getting an oil change, and resetting it correctly allows your Acura ZDX to accurately track when the next change is due. This not only helps in keeping your engine in optimal condition but also gives you peace of mind knowing that you’re up-to-date with your vehicle’s maintenance needs. Plus, there’s something satisfying about seeing that clear dashboard, free from any nagging reminders. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or someone who just wants to keep their vehicle in top shape, resetting the oil light is an easy win for both you and your trusty ride.
1. Turn the ignition to (II) – do not start the engine.
2. Press the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel repeatedly until engine oil life is displayed.
3. Press and hold the SEL/RESET button for more than 10 seconds. The remaining engine oil life reset mode will be shown on the multi information display.
4. Select RESET by pressing the INFO (up/down) button, then press the SEL/RESET button to reset the engine oil life display. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100.
5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
*Models equipped with the keyless access system have an engine start/stop button instead of an ignition switch. Pushing start/stop button once without starting engine is equivalent of ignition (II).
