1. Turn ignition to Terminal 15 which is one turn of the key or one press of the START/STOP button.
2. Press and hold the trip odometer reset button for approximately 10 seconds until the first service job appears in the display.
3. The upper display in the Instrument Cluster will be illuminated with a Service Item (example: An oil can is the designation for Oil Service). The lower display in the Instrument Cluster will indicate the remaining time or mileage left for that Service Item (example: 14000). Press the on-board computer button repeatedly (located on the direction indicator/main-beam switch) to scroll through all of the Condition Based Service Items.
4. Press and hold the on-board computer button on the direction indicator/main-beam switch until "RESET" appears in the lower display.
5. Pressing the on-board computer button again resets the service shown in the upper display. Repeat the procedure for each additional service which is to be reset.
6. Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

2. The kilometre/mileage counter must appear in the display. If not displayed, press the down button repeatedly until displayed.
3. Press the left arrow button repeatedly until "trip" is displayed.
4. Press and hold phone button and then within 1 second press and hold down the OK button. Hold for 5 seconds then the workshop menu will be displayed "Vehicle data, Dynamometer Test, Change Brake Lining and ASSYST PLUS".
5. Select ASSYST PLUS and confirm with OK button.
6. Select FULL SERVICE and confirm with OK button.
7. Select CONFIRM SERV and confirm with OK button.
8. Select the oil used "Oil qual. 229.3" or "Oil qual. 229.5" and confirm with OK button.
9. Select YES and confirm with OK button.
10. Select CONFIRMATION and confirm selection by pressing OK button. "Full service carried out" appears in the display.
11. Press the OK button and exit the menu by pressing the back button repeatedly.
12. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
*Close all doors, windows, hood and trunk when performing reset

Without Steering Wheel Controls
1. Switch ignition on (do not start engine). Wait for the odometer reading to display before moving ahead.
2. Press button 0 on the instrument cluster for 30 seconds until a beep sounds.
3. On diesel engines with a long oil change interval: Press button M repeatedly until "rESEt .51/ rESEt .31" is shown on the display or on older instrument clusters "rESEt 229.5/ rESEt 229.3" is shown together with the oil can symbol.
4. Press button 0 for 3 seconds, release and press again.
5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
With Steering Wheel Controls:
1. Switch ignition on (do not start engine). Wait for the odometer reading to display before moving ahead. If the odometer is not shown press the lower system selection (double square on left side of steering wheel ) button repeatedly.
2. Press the UP or DOWN arrow until "service scope x in xxx km" appears in the instrument cluster display.
3. Press button 0 on the instrument cluster for 30 seconds until a beep sounds.
4. Press the lower system selection (double square) button once.
5. Press the UP or DOWN button until "Service in xxx km" appears in the insturment cluster display.
6. Press button 0 on the instrument cluster. The menu "Carry out" appears in the instrument cluster display.
7. Press the UP or DOWN button until the menu selection "Oil types" appears in the instrument cluster display.
8. Press the + button until the oil desired oil specification is selected. Use the UP arrow to select.
9. Press button 0 on the instrument cluster for 3 seconds until the display "Service confirmed" appears in the instrument cluster display.
10. Press the UP button to display the new service scope in the instrument cluster display.
11. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
