To reset the 1999 Volvo S40 service reminder indicator, please follow these instructions:

1. Turn off ignition. Press and hold in the trip odometer RESET button.
2. Turn ignition key to position I.
3. Continue to hold in the TRIP ODOMETER button for a period of 10 seconds until the Service Reminder Indicator starts flashing, release RESET button within 5 seconds. Audible beep will be heard to signal the light has been reset.
4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
