The 2014 Scion xB Maintenance Light (MAINT REQD) illuminates on the dashboard when the vehicle has exceeded its factory-programmed maintenance interval.  This indicator does not measure the quality of the oil; it’s simply a reminder that you have exceeded the service interval.  To reset the 2014 Scion xB Maintenance Light (MAINT REQD), follow these instructions:

1. Start the engine.
2. Select trip metre A reading by using the trip metre button and then turn the ignition off.
3. While pressing the trip meter reset button, turn the engine switch to the ON position (do not start the engine or the reset process will be cancelled). Continue to press and hold the button until the trip metre displays “000000”.
4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
